This earthenware pot showcases handmade craftsmanship with rustic edges on the pot, lid, and handles. The lid features a "Tobikanna" pattern, created using a tool called a "Kanna" while turning the wheel, resulting in a unique design.
The matte-toned glaze gives the pot a subtle look, making colorful vegetables stand out beautifully against the dark clay. The 3.3L (111.6oz) size is ideal for 3 to 4 people, perfect for donabe dishes and other meals like soup, stew, curry, or cheese fondue for 4 to 5 people.
The pot is versatile, working with open flames, electric cooktops, and ovens. However, it is not compatible with induction cooktops. It is ready to use right after purchase, as it doesn't require seasoning.
This pot is 15% lighter than traditional clay pots but still retains heat well. Banko Ware is known for its heat resistance, durability, and ability to keep food warm longer. The far-infrared effect also enhances the flavor by locking in the food's umami.
