How to Prepare Cold Juwari Soba (Zaru Soba)

  1. Boil Water: In a large pot, bring plenty of water to a boil.

  2. Cook the Noodles: Add soba noodles and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. Drain & Rinse: Drain into a colander and rinse under cold running water for 10 to 20 seconds.

  4. Gently Wash & Drain: Place the noodles in a bowl of cold water, rinse gently by hand, then drain again.

  5. Plate & Garnish: Serve on a zaru (bamboo plate) or regular plate, topped with sliced nori seaweed.

  6. Enjoy with Mentsuyu Dipping Sauce: Pair with mentsuyu dipping sauce, garnished with scallions, wasabi, and grated daikon.
